Painting Space Hulk. Going Well, need to get some gold paint

Is going well, another couple of hours in and this guy is nearly done. Need to hit the shops and buy some gold paint. I used Vallejo Liquid Gold paints but was unable to ship them as they are flammable. Hopefully this weekend I can find somewhere on the island that sells it or I'm going to have to hit ebay. Still I'm happy with Brother Stabby Fist here, An hour or so left on him and he's done.

Progress....Slowly. Glowing Terminator Eyes

So another 2 hours painting today so far and I decided to take a break from the batch painting and have a go at some glowing lenses. All in all I'm quite pleased with the effect. Its subtle and not in your face but I like it

Painting Space Hulk 2014, Imperial Fist trail model and Super Dungeon Explore Druid

Heres a couple shots of an Imperial Fist Space Marine, I know yellow vexes some painters but I just really enjoy painting yellow. My previous yellow models were my Iyanden Eldar and they were airbrushed. This guy was done by hand.  I do just love painting yellow. If I were to start a 40 k army, it would likely be in this colour. For me it just pops on the table.
Im currently doing examples of models in different paint schemes, these will be available as examples for prospective customers who want an idea of what my painting is like and would like to commission me to paint them anything from one model to an army. This is a hand painted example, I will be doing airbrushed examples too. This is table top standard. Basing will be included and on request to match anything you may have already

I also started the Terminators from the 2014 re-release Space hulk box set, looking at the pictures I just have to sort out my lighting. Living on Vancouver Island in a wooden house surrounded by trees is lovely, but it plays havoc with lighting. Daylight bulb is on the shopping list as the colours in all these quick snaps is too muted. That said I am jogging on nicely with these models. Ive spent the last two afternoons building, priming and laying down a couple of thin coats of Game Colour "Gory Red" thinned down 50/50. Now I am blacking in all the areas that will be mettalic and other colours. I like base coating in either grey or white it makes colours like red really vibrant.

Here is another side project I've had for awhile but never started due to the big move. These two models are the Druid, and Druid Bear form from the game "Super Dungeon Explore" This one I'm not selling once its painted. This is for my kids
This is the tiny work spaceI have at the moment, its ok but not perfect. However I do have plans once we hit the spring to set up a proper "man cave" in the garage. Then I can dig out and start blasting with the airbrush.

Im back with a BANG - Painting Space Hulk begins

Hi Folks
As promised I am now back in action. The last 10 months has seen me having to put everything hobby related on hold because of emigrating to Canada from the UK. Ive painted a few pieces but nothing significant. However thats all about to change. We arrived in Canada on November the 20th last year and tomorrow I am off to Vancouver to complete the final stage of my Permanent Residence Application. What this means is I can work and more importantly start progressing with my commissions.

Right off the bat I have an unopened box of last years SpaceHulk re-release to chow into. This will be my main focus this month and the plan is to then sell it on to fund further projects. I had dabbled with the idea of doing an alternate Lamenters yellow paint scheme but I do think that the Blood Angels scheme will likely sell for a better price. Any thoughts on this would be welcome from you guys.
Above is a few pics from previous "red" space marine projects and

Whatever scheme I go with I will be updating the blog with many pictures and posts. With a proper Digital SLR camera too, not my crappy iPhone.

I have also been working on a Facebook page, its still early days and I have much more to add to it before its "live" as such. Its focus will mainly painting miniatures and I would love for anyone to post their own pieces. Anything that really catches my eye will be showcased here on the blog as well as the Facebook page. Here is the link,

but please be patient, its still very early days and I'm not actively looking for "likes" until I'm happy with the page and its content.

So expect to see regular posts and please feel free to ask and suggest anything hobby related.
